Is your property in a flood plain?

Flooding can happen anywhere in the United States. You want to figure out if the area you live in is at high risk for flooding. To find out if you are, you will need to use a FEMA flood map. This map shows your risk of flooding, flood zones, boundaries, etc. You simply just enter your address and analyze the results. The different flooding areas are labeled by letters. If you are at high risk of flooding, the area would be labeled with letters A and V. Moderate to low-risk areas are B, C, and X. It is recommended to get flood insurance even if you are not at high-risk to protect your property. As stated above, flooding can happen anywhere and it is better to have as much protection as possible just in case.
